Our inter-generational work is breaking barriers within the community and forging important relationships between elderly persons within the community and young people. Our focus is ex-service men and women, their families and veterans. We facilitate sessions that bring together these people and give them an opportunity to share stories, struggles, issues and an understanding of society and the changes that have affected them. We deliver weekly meetings, follow up work and events as part of the program that help develop a mutual respect in the community, provide opportunities to engage with different groups in the community and reduce isolation and misunderstanding between generations. Character development is important and bringing these groups of people together is vital to increase respect and responsibility in the community. The older generation has the ability to share great knowledge, insight and change perceptions within the community. Young people have the ability to shape their futures based on insight and understanding.
